Types of Hair Quality

  • Synthetic Hair – Also known as doll hair and is not the hair you want. This hair is fake, cheap, and considered the lowest quality. Synthetic is made up of plastic fibers which is made to look like and feel human hair. This hair should not be heated as it can melt.
  • Non-Remy – This hair is low quality, cheap, and will definitely not last more than a few weeks. Non-remy hair is typically mixed with animal hair, the cuticle is not in tact, and this hair mats after the first wash.
  • Low Quality Remy – Remy Human typically appears soft and shiny because due to the silcone coats applied to the hair. The silicone however, will only last anywhere from 1-3 washes. This kind of hair usually costs around $80-100 per pack. While they might seem like a great investment, this option isn’t going to last as it’s considered “cheap” remy hair. Also the cuticle is not intact.
  • High Quality Remy – This is where you can consider your purchase an investment. The cutocle is intact and is what keeps the hair extensions looking healthy and shiny. You can expect this hair to cost over $100 per pack but will definitely last.
  • Virgin Remy Hair – This is the highest quality you can get. This hair has the cuticle intact, is hand selected, and is processed with different technology to keep quality high. Virgin hair is more expensive because it is uncommon and it takes more work to process this hair. You can expect this hair to last for about a year or more, depending on how you handle and care for it. Virgin hair comes from healthy donors who have never chemically treated their hair in any way.

  • Tape-in – You can wear this method for 2-3 months and are reusable. Application process takes about 30 minutes and the removal process can take up to 15 minutes. With this process thin tape wefts are used with a strong adhesive. With this method you are able to wear hair up or down, swim with them and workout.
