Here are the need-to-know styles:

Square

It’s all in the description. Your can expect your nail to be a perfect square with no soft edges.

It’s great for those who prefer short nails and just aren’t really into the round shape.

Squoval

Consider this style of sot square and is a good compromise between square and oval. Duh!

Round

Elissa notes that this shape is really popular at Paintbox and recommends them to any client who thinks their fingers are short or chubby.

Why?

Round and almond shapes elongate and makes hands look more slender.

Almond

With this shape, the nail is slender on the sides and wide on the base, coming to a peak, which hints to the almond shape.

Oval

Similar to the almond, but for this shape the tip is considered much more softer and blunt.

Note: oval and almond shapes really only work with longer nails.

Stiletto

This shape has a very drastic point.

Also, this shape isn’t exactly possible on natural nails.

Why?

Because they don’t have enough strength to hold the shape. In other words, the nail might break off in a couple of hours.

If you want to achieve this look successfully, opt for fake nails.

Coffin

Similar to the stiletto, but with a more squared off tip.

This shape is a favorite for Kylie Jenner and can be pulled off with natural nails but will definitely hold up with false ones.
