Burberry’s chief creative officer, Riccardo Tisci, took it to Instagram to reveal that the luxury megabrand is collaborating with Vivienne Westwood.
In an official statement, Tisci says:
“Vivienne Westwood was one of the first designers who made me dream to become a designer myself.”
Tisci also notes:
“She is a rebel, a punk and unrivalled in her unique representation of British style, which has inspired so many of us. When I first started at Burberry, I knew it would be the perfect opportunity to approach her to do something.”
The limited-edition collection is expected to launch in December 2018 and will include pieces from Vivienne Westwood’s archive that have been reworked.
The move towards the collab comes as more and more luxury brands are turning to collaborations to refresh their brands, making them more relevant.
Tisci will also reveal his first full collection for Burberry in September 2018.
