Riccardo Tisci Is Honoring Burberry’s Legacy With “B Classic” Collection

After 17 years with the company, Christopher Bailey, left Burberry, leaving Riccardo Tisci to act as Burberry’s new chief creative officer, since March.

Prior to Burberry, for 12 years, Tisci acted as the creative director at Givenchy.

Tisci was noted for introducing a sportswear aesthetic into the world of high fashion as well as turning the Givenchy into one of LVMH’s most profitable companies.

At Burberry, Tisci is accountable for both the men’s and women’s wear collections as well as accessories.

The brand brought on Tisic in hopes to cure years of dormant sales.

With that, Tisci has been working on producing his inaugural collection dubbed, “B Classic” via Instagram.

With the sneak peak Tisci provided via Instagram, Tisci says:

“I wanted to celebrate the beauty, heritage and legacy that I discovered when I first arrived at Burberry. ‘B Classic’ is an edit that I’ve curated to honor the icons of the House.”

Some of the standout pieces we can expect to see in the SS19 pre-collection designed by the Burberry design team, includes:

  • a trench coat
  • quilted jacket
  • car coat
  • poncho
  • and kilt.
