Roger Vivier Has a New Creative Director

FN broke the news on March 5th that Roger Vivier’s new creative director is Gherardo Felloni.

In a statement, Felloni says:

“Roger Vivier is the absolute reference of luxury shoes. I have always been fascinated by [the eponymous house founder] and its master of modernity, its ultimate chic and its endless creativity.”

And also notes:

“I feel honored to be part of Roger Vivier today and develop it further, respecting its heritage and tradition while adding a contemporary and modern take, something Mr. Vivier has always demonstrated.”

Before Roger Vivier, Felloni headed the footwear, leather goods and costume jewelry department at Miu Miu.

And prior to that, Felloni was the shoe design director at Christian Dior, working alongside John Galliano and Raf Simons.

Felloni began his career in fashion as an intern for Prada, but prior to that, he worked in his father’s shoe factory in Arezzo, Italy.

Felloni’s first Roger Vivier collection will be spring 2019.
