Whether you’re going on a trip for some true R&R or you’re heading on a business venture, the one thing that can really get in the way is the stress that comes with traveling. This especially holds true if the trip is long.
And with pressurized cabin air and the endless hours of travel wreaking havoc on your face, all the added stress can show through on your skin. But that doesn’t mean we can’t do anything about it.
With the possible risk of looking a bit strange, you can turn your flight into a beauty regime worthy of a spa. Below, you will find some of our best beauty tricks that allow you to maintain a healthy beauty routine while on the road.
Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate
Throughout this article, we will remind you just how damaging traveling can be on your skin. Sorry, but it’s true. So throughout your trip, make sure to stay as hydrated as possible.
But note that once you are adequately hydrated, your kidneys should take over from there and excrete any excess fluids. With that, be sure to lock in the moisture, especially while traveling. To do just that, apply moisturizer to a clean face (more on this below). And if drinking water happens to be a hard task for you in general, remember that drinking water has so many benefits like eliminating dry and wrinkled skin, boosting your metabolism and energizing your muscles.
For other ways to consume water, try consuming any of the following:
- broth-based soups
Cure that messy hair
Messy hair is the most common while on the road but can easily be avoided. When traveling, always make sure to pack dry shampoo, even if it’s travel size. Thanks to its consistency, it will absorb any excess sebum and increase the durability of the hair and scalp extension.
And if dry shampoo isn’t within reach, opt for a ribbon or bandana, as it can easily hide any noticeable grease strands.
Another solution is to tie the hair with a tight braid. Check out Conair Scunci hair accessories for women for the best hair accessories.
Ditch the glam
While on the road, always try to keep your makeup to a minimum.
You can easily do this by applying a face cream (opt for something moisturizing, as planes can really dry out your skin), some concealer under your eyes, your favorite balm or lipstick and a touch of mascara on your eyelashes.
Going minimal on the makeup is not only easier to manage but it’s easier to remove. If you’re on a long flight, you can remove your makeup with a cotton ball or pad and some micellar water. Doing so will allow you to easily remove any impurities and makeup from your face without needing a mirror. You can also try makeup wipes.
Do your traveling plans involve women’s stylish rolling briefcase or a rugged old backpack?
No matter what your plans may be, it’s always best to opt for the most comfortable clothes while traveling. When you do, you might notice how much easier traveling can be. But by no means does this mean you should travel in your pajamas. Well, you totally can but we advise against it. Instead, go for a comfortable pair of pants, flat does, and a cotton top/blouse.
If you have commitments to fulfill from the moment you get off the plane, we recommend opting for a comfortable dress made of a non-wrinkling fabric. It’s the best way to look put together while still feeling comfortable.
Besides the clothing, do not forget the classic neck pillow and even a mask so that light does not bother you. If you manage to sleep during your flight, you will notice that you will be less tired when you arrive and that you will be able to enjoy the trip more.
It may seem impossible, but try to only pack things are truly necessary. The lighter you pack, the easier it will be to navigate throughout your travels, especially to and from the airport.
