  1. Can the Fashion Industry Really Become Carbon Neutral? -Burberry, Gucci, and Gabriela Hearst – these are a few of the major names that are going carbon neutral. Burberry made public its carbon emission goals in June, and has since followed up by declaring that its Spring/Summer 2020 show “has been certified as carbon neutral.” Gucci followed suit when it revealed by way of an Instagram campaign and formal announcement this month that it will be completely carbon neutral by the end of September – from its own in-house operations to those of its third-party suppliers. Still yet, sustainable luxury brand Gabriela Hearst confirmed that it offset its Spring/Summer show emissions, thereby, producing a carbon-neutral show. Read more on TFL

How Katie Sturino Went from Working in PR to Becoming an Influencer-Entrepreneur – Katie Sturino has had an extremely busy summer: There was a June wedding, followed by an Italian honeymoon; the launch of a size-inclusive collaboration with Stitch Fix; running “The 12ish Style,” her blog dedicated to plus-size fashion where she launched the #MakeMySize movement; and several big things in the works at Megababe, the beauty line she founded just a couple of years ago. What It’s Like to Launch a Makeup Line With Lady Gaga – There’s a memorable scene in Lady Gaga’s 2017 Netflix documentary Gaga: Five Foot Two, when she’s in a room with her team, sans makeup, under pressure as she’s approaching a deadline for her record. She’s about to change locations. “There’s just a lot of people outside,” someone warns, as the clamoring crowd of fans and paparazzi on the street below them grows louder and louder. “Go ahead then,” she tells her longtime makeup artist, Sarah Tanno, who proceeds to apply a dramatic black cat-eye. As the product piles on, you can see her transforming from Stefani Germanotta to Lady Gaga, the global pop star we all recognize. First, she’s probably the nicest celebrity I’ve ever interviewed (she called me “boo” during the interview, and, no, I’m still not over it). Secondly, it’s evident that the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star knows A LOT about shapewear.
