Ever notice how celebrities tend to have the mos impeccable skin? Silky-smooth doesn’t even begin to describe their skin and neither does the term “glowing” do it justice. But if we had to settle on any term to describe the skin of most celebrities, we’d have to settle with the term “flawless.” Right?
While you probably find yourself having a hard time even going a day without dark circles or a zit at the tip of your nose, it’s not hard to ponder the question “How do celebs get such amazing skin?” What exactly are they doing differently? Is it the fact that they have money and can afford to splurge on expensive skincare products?
If you find yourself asking these questions every time you look at your skin, then you’ve been getting it all wrong. Having radiant and blemish-free skin doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg. It is the simple things you do, such as using natural bar soap and drinking more water that will give life to your skin.
That said, here are some easy-to-do and affordable tips to try out if you are trying to rejuvenate your skin.
Always Remove Your Makeup Before Bed
This rule is an unwritten golden rule of skincare. Regardless of how tired you may be, don’t ever go to bed with your makeup intact — leaving your makeup on clogs the pores, which in turn causes acne and also leaves you with blemishes and blackheads.
To ensure you don’t get lazy and assume one day won’t hurt, always remove your make up the moment you get home. Got no makeup remover? Then try some olive oil on a cotton pad, or wash it off with natural bar soap. It removes all the makeup and dirt but does not strip your skin’s natural oils.
Have a Skincare Routine
Have a good skincare routine. It doesn’t mean you spend endless hours in front of the mirror. You should invest in a good cleanser, toner, and moisturizer, and you will be good to go.
Get Plenty of Sleep
Tired of having dark circles beneath your eyes, then get enough sleep. Note, not just sleep but quality sleep. It means at least eight hours of snoozing. It will not only get rid of the eye bags but will also help rejuvenate your skin. Also, sleep is good for your health.
Avoid Over-Exposure to the Sun
Continuous skin exposure to the sun causes wrinkles and a ton of other skin problems. Therefore, avoid being in the sun for too long. If your job involves being out there for long periods, invest in quality sunscreen. Also, find ways to prevent it, such as wearing wide-brimmed hats.
As cliché as it may sound, the expression “you are what you eat” rings true when it comes to not only your health but your skin as well. Plenty of fruits and vegetables supply a good dose of nutrition to your body and your skin. For instance, you get antioxidants which are very effective in neutralizing skin-damaging free radicals. So, if you’ve been eating unhealthily, consider switching your diet for flawless skin.
Sweat it Out
For even better skin, try and exercise regularly. Also, if working out isn’t your thing, try and run around your block for a few minutes at least once a day. Alternatively, try out a fun approach to exercise, such as yoga.
Exercising is beneficial to your skin because it enhances blood circulation to your skin cells. This, in turn, means your cells get a sufficient supply of nutrients and oxygen required to keep your skin glowing.
Even if you buy the most expensive skincare products, they still won’t do your skin justice if you stay in the sun for endless hours, sleep with makeup on, and fail to take enough water. That’s why you should include more products with natural ingredients such as natural bar soap into your skincare routine.
