Why did you start blogging? And what currently drives you to keep up with it?
I started blogging in 2014 to fill a creative void in my life.
I had been following multiple blogs and decided I wanted to take the plunge and start my own.
While blogging is a lot of work, I love getting feedback from my readers and inspiring others with affordable fashion ideas.
What would you consider your personal style to be and what influences your style?
I would consider my style to be girly yet casual.
I currently love pieces with fun embellishments such as ruffles, pom poms and tassels. They can take a simple tee shirt and add some serious sass to it.
Are there any fashion labels you love?
I shop at Nordstrom a lot because there are a variety of labels (Lush, BP, Socialite, Hinge, Etc.) that I love.
What beauty products do you live by?
I LOVE all of IT Cosmetics products. I couldn’t live with out their CC cream.
I also swear by NARS concealer.
What bloggers do you follow and why?
I follow so many bloggers who are so creative and such great women.
Do you blog full time?
No I work a full time job as a personal assistant and then blog in the morning before work, after work and on the weekends.
Who takes your photos?
My husband has taken them for the most part (the best #instagramhusband) and recently I have been shooting with Lauren Anderson here in Houston.
What is your favorite part about blogging? And what’s the worst part about it?
The friendships I have made from it. The blogging community for the most part is so encouraging and I have made some of the sweetest friends not only in Houston but other states from blogging. It’s crazy how you can connect with someone so quickly over a common hobby/career. I have also loved establishing relationships with brands. Champagneista wouldn’t be where it is today with out great brands to work with.
The worst part would have to be the comparison game. While I have been blogging for over two years it is hard to see people who have recently started pass you up on social media with their numbers. I have to always remind myself to stay true to my brand and myself and that growing at the rate I am is authentic and just fine for me! Plus, I don’t blog full time so I don’t have the time to commit to everything as a full time blogger would.
What do you love most about your blog?
I love that it is my own personal space to share anything from fashion to travel. While my blog is always evolving, I love that I get to connect with all my readers and share my personality through my writing.
What piece of advice would you give to anyone starting their own blog?
Blogging is a lot of work! There is so much more that goes into it then just pretty pictures. Make sure to network with the bloggers in your community because they can help you with any questions you might have and can relate to your blogger struggles.
Have any fashion blog goals for 2017?
I would love to step out of my comfort zone and try to add in outfits that are a little edgier. Stay tuned!
