Coach Is Changing Its Name To Tapestry

It’s official, later this month, retail giant known as Coach will change its name to Tapestry.

Coach, which now owns Stuart Weitzman and Kate Spade, is making moves with the goal to better incorporate all of its brands.

But to make things clear, the handbag and shoe line will still go by Coach, but will now be placed under the larger Tapestry corporate name.

On Wednesday, Coach CEO Victor Luis said that the name Tapestry, “speaks to creativity, craftsmanship, authenticity and inclusivity.”

The website says:

“We believe true luxury is a freedom of expression that ignites confidence and authenticity. At Tapestry, anyone from anywhere can have the best idea, and with hard work and dedication, anything is possible.”

Note: Coach Inc. will change its ticker symbol on the New York Stock Exchange from “COH,” to “TPR.”
